Electrolysis Hair Removal

Electrolysis uses an incredibly fine needle, no bigger than an eyelash, to inject a tiny burst of heat into the root of the hair follicle. This weakens the hair, gradually destroying it over the course of the treatment.

For women, we can use electrolysis on the face – upper lip, chin, cheeks and eyebrows – and body.

For men, electrolysis is effective for removing hair around the ear, nose, beard area and above the shave line.

At Tej & Co, we use two types of electrolysis systems, Apilus and Sterex. Apilus is our most advanced system and is most popular with our transgender clients, who have hours of treatment and find it completely painless compared to the traditional Sterex system. At your consultation, we’ll take the time to discuss which system is best for you.

While electrolysis is safe, pain-free and effective, some people find it a little uncomfortable on larger areas and you will need repeat sessions to permanently get rid of unwanted hair.

Although electrolysis is suitable for all hair types – however coarse, whatever the colour – your hair does need to be at least 1cm long and you shouldn’t pluck, shave or wax between treatments.

At your appointment, our friendly, expert therapists will guide you through the treatment process in detail, but as a guide it involves:

1. Gently cleansing the treatment area with a sterile wipe.
2. Inserting the pain-free electrolysis probe into the hair follicle, which then releases a tiny burst of energy to target the root.
3. Removing the probe and the hair.
4. Repeating the process until all unwanted hair is removed.

At your consultation we’ll discuss whether electrolysis is the most suitable treatment for you. If it is, we’ll put together a bespoke plan, tell you what to expect pre- and post-treatment and answer any questions you may have.

With electrolysis, the results are instant and will leave you with hair-free, smoother skin. In the short term, hair will grow back finer and more slowly. Over the longer term, with several treatments, you’ll see permanent hair reduction.
