Micro Needling

Micro-needling works by using tiny, precisely spaced needles to make imperceptibly small perforations into the top layer of your deeper skin. This causes your skin’s natural repair mechanisms to shift into high gear, producing collagen and elastin that repairs the micro-perforations and renews your skin.

We offer two types of safe, trusted and clinically proven micro-needling treatments: Collagen PIN and DermaFrac.

Collagen PIN has an adjustable needle length that allows us to vary the depth of penetration to easily treat different skin thicknesses, for example the thinner skin around your eyes and forehead or the thicker skin around your upper lip, cheeks, neck and upper body. We often combine this treatment with Dermalux LED light treatment to further stimulate collagen, suppress inflammation and reduce irritation. Collagen PIN has a slightly longer recovery period than DermaFrac – around 1-2 days.

DermaFrac involves gently cleansing with microdermabrasion to remove dead skin cells, before infusing the skin with a serum – typically a peptide, stem cells or vitamins – that’s designed to address specific skin problems. This treatment also uses Dermalux LED light treatment.

Either way, micro-needling is a more convenient, less disruptive alternative to more invasive skin peels and has a much shorter recovery time than laser resurfacing treatments, ablative surgery treatments or injectables.

At your appointment, our friendly, expert therapists will guide you through the treatment process in detail, but here’s a rough guide.

Collagen PIN treatment involves:

1. Applying a numbing cream to the affected area 30 minutes before treatment.
2. Cleansing the area and applying a sterile solution.
3. Gently gliding a sterile needle cartridge across your skin, which makes micro-perforations to the desired depth.
4. Treating the area with LED light therapy to further stimulate natural skin rejuvenation.

DermaFrac involves:

1. Cleansing the affected area with micro-dermabrasion to remove dead skin cells.
2. Rolling the micro-needle hand piece across the skin under a vacuum, which allows the serum to infuse your skin.
3. Applying a hydrating mask to the treated area.
4. Treating the area with LED light therapy to further stimulate natural skin rejuvenation.

A Collagen PIN treatment session typically takes around 60 minutes, while a DermaFrac session will take about 30 minutes.

At your consultation we’ll discuss how many sessions would be best for you. We’ll then put together a bespoke treatment plan, tell you what to expect pre- and post-treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Most people see an improvement within a few weeks, with continuous improvement up to six months after treatment as cell turnover reveals beautiful, rejuvenated skin.
