Advanced Electrolysis

Electrolysis can be used on the face and body, and works by passing a very small, precisely targeted current of energy into the target area of the skin. This ‘dries up’ the vessels that feed into the area, cauterising skin tags and causing them to drop off without leaving any marks behind. It also leads to a visible reduction in the appearance of any blemishes.

Electrolysis is becoming increasingly popular with both men and women of all skin types, thanks to quick, immediate results that leave skin smooth, clear and blemish free.

At Tej & Co, we use two types of electrolysis, Apilus and Sterex. Apilus is our most advanced and popular system, renowned for its high-quality and pain-free results. At your consultation, we’ll take the time to discuss which system is best for you.

While electrolysis is safe, pain-free and effective, some people find it a little uncomfortable on larger skin-tag areas. However, our therapists are experts in electrolysis and perform all treatments with great care and skill to minimise any discomfort.

At your appointment, our friendly, expert therapists will guide you through the treatment process in detail, but as a guide it involves:

1. Gently cleansing the treatment area with a sterile wipe.
2. Applying the electrolysis probe to the target area, which then releases a tiny burst of energy.
3. Using witch hazel and a special ointment to soothe the treated area and prevent infection.

The procedure cauterises skin tags, causing them to drop off. For other blemishes, the energy stimulates the treatment area, reducing visibility and redness.

At your consultation, we’ll discuss whether electrolysis is the most suitable treatment for you. If it is, we’ll put together a bespoke plan, tell you what to expect pre- and post-treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Treating skin tags with advanced electrolysis is a good way to ensure they won’t reappear. Also, because there’s less risk of scarring, it makes a great facial treatment option.

While our clients rarely experience any side effects with this treatment, you may initially have a little scabbing and redness. However, this is temporary and will be fully healed within 14 days. If the treatment area is easily visible, you may want to consider this recovery time when booking.
